Hi.

I'm so close....I'm trying to create a series of redirects that will be easier to remember. For example, I want a user to type

www.streamtoolsonline.com/templates

but have that directed to
www.streamtoolsonline.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=1&Itemid=2


The basic idea is that using the long address for marketing purposes is too cumbersome. I think I've enabled everything b/c I see ReDJ in my components menu.

Tried
From URL ^/templates
to www.streamtoolsonline.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=1&Itemid=2

And that didn't work. What's your advice?

it's correct. Just check if plugin is enabled, and if still not work, send me dump of ReDJ table.

I believe it is enabled. In the plugin manager, I have it checked as "enabled". Is there another thing to enable that I missed?

It should work,
but I see that the error page (404) is not managed by your Joomla.

Is it possible to have your .htaccess file and the table dump? You can send a mail at info(at)sistemistica.it.

I'm happy to give you whatever you need! Problem is that I have no idea how/what to do. I've looked in my directory and don't see an htaccess.txt. I'm also not sure what you mean about a table dump.

Is your hosting managed by provider?

I suppose you don't install Joomla by yourself. So, I'd like to help you but I need to check settings on the backend.

If you trust me, create a temp user and send me an email with info to access your backend. Otherwise, I'm not able to understand why you aren't able to manage redirects.

My plugin is installed and enabled

I have tried the rules in various ways, but it seems there is actually no response from the module on the 404 errors in any case.

I have no HTAccess file on my server (trying to avoid using one)

when I call the URL I get this:



And this is not Joomla at all. It means ReDJ can't do the job because your call is not managed by Joomla.

You should use an "ErrorDocument 404 /" in .htaccess file. Actually this option seems to be misconfigured. Could you check this?
