I have a particularly stubborn URL that is refusing to redirect. As far as I can tell we have the syntax correct on either side.

We want managingenergy.com/blog/?cat=1 to redirect to www.managingenergy.com/about-us/blog.html

I have used several variations of the From URL syntax.
/blog
^/blog/
^/blog/\?cat=1
^/blog/\?cat=1$

Some of these may override other redirects we have, but we've been trying these in hopes of finding something that works. So far none of them have.

The To URL syntax is http://{host}/home/about-us/blog.html

Interestingly, we do not receive a 404 error when clicking on the original link we wish to change. We instead receive a browser error saying that the page isn't redirecting properly. Nothing pertaining to this is showing up in the ReDJ Manager Errors log, so we're not gaining any extra data there either.

I look forward to any additional information you can give that might clarify this matter.

I just have a question. It seems that www.managingenergy.com/about-us/blog.html is a Joomla URL, but the source URL, managingenergy.com/blog/?cat=1 is a Wordpress URL.

If so, there could be a problem to redirect this with ReDJ. This is because the web server check the URL and pass the control directly to Wordpress. So Joomla and ReDJ can't do nothing.

But we can find a fast solution for this.

Your code as pasted in your message worked. We are now seeing a successful redirect.

You are correct that it appears to be a Wordpress site. We did not set it up; the only thing we can think of is the URL belongs to a deleted Wordpress trial that our web designer created, and that Google has kept in its cache. We wanted to redirect it to our current blog, and are glad that you have offered a solution that worked.
