I've installed the plugin and read the whole documentation.

I´ve enabled the plugin, activated the early redirection option and moved the plugin to the first position.

I want this URL mydomain.com/tpv to get redirected to this other mydomain.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=160&catid=73&Itemid=535

So in the component I've typed the following:
FROM URL: ^/tpv*$
Published: Yes
TO URL:mydomain.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=160&catid=73&Itemid=535


So I think I've done everything correctly but it doesn't get redirected. I just get the 404 error all the time.

Please can you help me??

everithing seems correct, so the problem could be the request / response is managed by Apache itself and not by Joomla (and ReDJ).

Please, check that the 404 error page is the Apache one, if so, you should tell to Apache to pass to Joomla these kind of errors. To do this just add this at the end of .htaccess file:

So now if I need to redirect one of my very large URLS to a short URL and wish that that short URL stays in the browser field I need to use internal redirection isn't it? This feature is not included in the free version of ReDJ?

Right.,
creation of true alias (internal redirect) is an Enterprise feature.

what you buy is a lifetime subscription to download the ReDJ Enterprise version, so you can use the extension on any site you want.

But I hope that you buy at least a subscription every 100 sites...

Hi,
usually in the web root of your Joomla site you should have a file named htaccess.txt.

This can be used under Apache web server to enable some "rewrite rules". To do this (if you are using Apache) usually just copy this file to a new one named ".htacces".

If you get problem, rename the file (e.g. .htaccess_) and check the Apache error log. Post her to get help.
