I am having trouble getting ReDJ to work correctly, and I have used it several times before. I moved a site from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 1.7, and I'm trying to create the following 301:

FROM: www.mydomain.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=49&Itemid=54
TO: www.samedomainname.com/about-us.html

I set up a new redirect that looks like this:

FROM: /index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=49&Itemid=54
TO: /about-us.html

I can redirect /index.php, but anything further and I get a 404. The plug in is enabled and is first in the list, what am I missing?

Nevermind, I just uninstalled ReDJ and used the built in Redirect from Joomla, and it works fine. Thanks.

your problem were the question mark, you always should escape it in a regular expression:



But if you need just simple one-on-one redirects, and no regular expressions at all you can be happy with builtin Redirect, good decision.

Thanks for the response. It was much easier to use the built in redirect in this case, but I appreciate the help for future endeavors. Your response makes perfect sense, I should have known better
