Hi. Apologies but I'm struggling. I've just created a new joomla website at my old URL www.ukfactotum.com

Some of the orogal URL's do not match the new ones hench purchasing and installing ReDJ. - I'm looking to redirect www.ukfactotum.com/telephone-continuity.htm (still searchable in Google) to www.ukfactotum.com/articles/business-continuity I've added a new ITEM pointing old to new but it is not working - is this because I've selected search engine friendly URL's?

I'm doing the same thing, replacing an old site (not a joomla site either) with a new joomla site. I am trying out the community version of ReDj but I want the best possible redirects for my client so I'm considering purchasing the enterprise version if you recommend it for this.

I saw the dictation you had on the example in this thread, with the from url beginning with a '^' and ending with a '$'. Did I set up this information correctly?




Or do I need to go back in the "from url" field and insert '^'/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_prod.html?p_prodid=15300'$' before and after it but without the hash marks '' ?

Also, I did a redirect for my main pages and product pages, but is there a rule that will then redirect all the other pages to my home page so that none of the links appear dead to google after I transfer the site?

first let me say I don't think you need the Enterprise version... or at least for now.

I would like to help you with your rules, but the screenshot is not so detailed. Please, send me a dump of ReDJ table at info(at)sistemistica.it.

About your questions,
the rule is a regular expression, so I suggest to put the caret (start with) and the dollar (end with) when you need to specify an exact match. Also consider your example will never work if you don't escape the question mark:

^/cgi-bin/webc\.cgi/st_prod\.html\?p_prodid=15300$

I like to escape also the "dot" when I need the "dot", but the rule works because the regexp "dot" means "any char" (so, the "dot" too).
