I have launched a new version of an a site with joomla and I can't get the redirect working correctly to send an old homepage address to my new one. The old home page was located here:
website.com/site/pp.asp\?c=ekLPK4MOIsG&b=275154

and I wanted that url to redirect to the new homepage that is
here website.com/index.php

so I set up ReDJ and set item
old:/site/pp.asp\?c=ekLPK4MOIsG&b=275154
new: http://{siteurl}/index.php

This doesn't seem to work and brings back the sites standard 404? What am I missing?

Check if 404 error page was returned by Apache. If so, probably you need to add an ErrorDocument directive to .htaccess file.
