I am just wondering if there is a list of all commands as i need to update a good bit of redirects and cant find my original list of the correct syntax for a url.

For example what do the following symbols signify?

Right now i have the following redirects i need to do.

I need the following redirects and want to use the right syntax

www.sitename.com/products/ redirect to www.sitename.com/products.html

www.sitename.com/products/email redirect to www.sitename.com/email.html

www.sitename.com/products/virus-scan/ redirect to www.sitename.com/services/virus-scan.html


The problem i am having is that now anything going to any url with the following in it www.sitename.com/products/ goes to www.sitename.com/products.html

So would the correct entry be the following or can i even do this?

From URL : /products/$
To URL : http://{siteurl}/products.html

Please advise

Anyway, here's the correct entries for your redirect:

1) www.sitename.com/products/ redirect to www.sitename.com/products.html
From URL: ^/products/$
To URL: http://{siteurl}/products.html

2) www.sitename.com/products/email redirect to www.sitename.com/email.html
From URL: ^/products/email$
To URL: http://{siteurl}/email.html

3) www.sitename.com/products/virus-scan/ redirect to www.sitename.com/services/virus-scan.html
From URL: ^/products/virus-scan/$
To URL: http://{siteurl}/services/virus-scan.html

The caret ^ means "start with", while the dollar $ means "end with". These are useful for restrict matches as in your cases.
