Hi,

I need to use Tag Meta to keep the search engines out of some property pages that have very similar content to other pages. I installed it on my local development on WAMPServer and it worked properly straight away. However, since I uploaded the site onto my host server I cannot get Tag Meta to do anything.

The URLs are rather messy being of the form http://www.mcgregorvillage.co.za/component/option,com_properties/Itemid,88/cid,2/id,70/lid,1/task,showproperty/tid,2/view,properties/. I am entering it as /component/option,com_properties/Itemid,88/cid,2/id,70/lid,1/task,showproperty/tid,2/view,properties/. I have tried escaping the commas with \

I do use 404SEF, although not for the property component. and not for metas. I also have SEO Simple.

The system plugin is the last on the list and WAMPServer is using the same versions of PHP etc as the host. I am using Joomla 1.5.

Help would be much appreciated!

If you were able to use Tag Meta in test, there should be something with live site. Form a fast solution, send me a private mail with temp account. Otherwise, send me dump of Tag Meta table, and a screenshot of plugin settings.

first thanks for trust. I've tested Tag Meta, all is well configured but it simply doesn't work.

I was not able to understand why, but if Tag Meta works in your test environment I think it could be related to web server configuration.

If you like, I could try to identify and fix the problem. To do this, I need to replace Tag Meta with a debug version, that writes to a log files. This allows me to understand where is the problem, and to fix it. After this, we could install the fixed "non-debug" version.

Thanks for checking the site and, yes, please go ahead and install the debug version. As I do all work on a local server and then delete and replace the live site, there will be no changes made by me while you are testing. The next version will probably go up in a week or 2.

I'll wait for the new version to come out and give that a try, or maybe I'll just change from sh404SEF (although I like it, there's no plugin to make it work with the real estate component I use) and use the current one.
