Not sure what I am doing wrong here so please be patient. I was trying to enter the keywords and description for my homepage, www.njteachertalk.com , and I screwed up the uri and wound up entering the uri for my parent directory. So the same keywords and description are located on every page of my site. I tried editing the uri, cleaning the caches (backend and browser), and even deleting the uri, figuring I'd start over again. But when I refresh and go to my page, and click view source, those same keywords and description are there. How do I permanently delete so I can start over and enter the keywords and description I want on each page?

What would be the uri of the actual homepage?

It's a strange question. The URI changes according with the site's page.

As example, if you want to match ONLY the index root of your site www.njteachertalk.com/ you can create an item rule as follow:



This is a regular expression that match only the homepage (caret means start with end dollar means end with).

So, if you send me some URLs you need to set meta info I could help you to configure items.

Sorry about that. I figured out the uri of the homepage. It's simply /home

So I added the /home to the tag meta manager and the changes take effect to the front page in google chrome. But the old keywords and description still show up in firefox and IE.

the view source still reflects the old info in FF and IE. How do I rectify this?

Sorry, I was incorrect. This has just changed the meta keywords and description to /home or www.njteachertalk.com/home, which is the homepage but when people access it through google, it is just www.njteachertalk.com

How do I change the meta info for www.njteachertalk.com

To enter the meta data for www.njteachertalk.com, I used the root directory. How do I edit this when I deleted it?

I thought about redirecting www.njteachertalk.com to www.njteachertalk.com/home but I really do not want to do that.

Problem solved. Was using tag meta for simple basic meta info on home page. This was already entered in joomla back end in global configuration. I could edit from there. Using tag meta for individual pages. Sorry for the confusion

Anyway, the "root" can be identified with "^/$". For any other question, u're welcome.
