Hi, i am new to tag meta. Based on user reviews, i am very impressed with the extension and would like to thank the developers.

However, i do not know how to use the extension despite reading the brief documentation and threads on this forum.

In the URL field, i set it as www.workfromhometrend.com

The other fields i set it with appropriate meta keywords and description that i need.

When i view the source of my website, the meta title, description and keyword tags are missing. It is shown as content=""

From what i read on user reviews, there are additional things to do if i were to set the meta tags on the home page. However, on sub-pages i am unable to get it to work.

Based on this, it is clearly shown that it is my own incompetence and has nothing to do with the developers. Thanks alot again and hope to see your reply soon.

Hi and thanks for using Tag Meta.
I'm working to improve documentation in the next release. However, Tag Meta uses just a part of current URL (REQUEST_URI part). So, when you create items, there's no need to put your domain (e.g. for www.yourdomain.com/home just put /home).

Also, Tag Meta uses MySQL regular expressions to compare currert browser URI with configured items. More info here:

Hi Luigi, thanks. i am able to get it to work perfectly already. but may i know how to do i set the meta tags on the front page? secondly, i created a page /index.php/testing and set the appropriate tags. by using /testing as the field without any additional syntax (/*$) i am able to get it working. when i created another page /index.php/introduction-article-testing, the meta tags did not appear. this is exactly what i want while i did not use any additional syntax, may i know is tag meta built this way?

Tag Meta uses MySQL regular expressions in URI items:

dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/regexp.html

For any client's browser URL, Tag Meta plugin try to find all the items matching with this URL, sorted by "item order", and if at least one is found, the first item is applied (so, order is important).

Regular expressions are a powerful way to manage URLs, because you can specify a single URL, or a group of URLs in the same item. But I know this requires a little practice.

For example, if you want to specify meta info that must be applied only to the homepage of your site, you can configure an item as follow:



The caret means "start with", and the dollar means "end with", so only the home page www.yourdomain.com/ matches.
